This widespread plant thrives in dry, untamed landscapes, frequently gracing roadsides and paths. Its fruit appears as a greenish-black pod. The leaves and flowering tops are rich in beneficial compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and coumarins. Notably, it contains melilotoside, a coumarin glucoside that converts into coumarin, a substance recognized for its lymph-draining properties.
