PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Herniaria, an annual botanical, thrives across Europe and western Asia, with two distinct sub-species found throughout Italy. This resilient plant flourishes in disturbed, trampled environments, particularly on arid, gravelly-sandy terrains. It prefers soil rich in bases but with low calcium content, ranging from neutral to slightly acidic, and can be found from sea level up to approximately 1500 meters (with rare occurrences reaching 2000 meters). The plant's historical use as a remedy for ruptures, due to its saponin content, is reflected in its generic name. Its species designation points to its minimal hairiness, distinguishing it from H. hirsuta.
