Exceptional Barberry Extract
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
This extract originates from a shrub typically one to three meters tall, characterized by substantial roots that are brown externally and yellow internally. The plant exhibits extensive branching with thorny stems.
Its leaves are elliptical, tapering at the base into a short petiole, with an obtuse or rounded apex. They possess a nearly leathery texture, a smooth and glossy surface, and an indented margin. The leaves are arranged alternately on longer branches or gathered in clusters on very short twigs. At the base of each twig, there's a thorn composed of three to seven exceedingly sharp quills.
The flowers, numbering 15-20, are arranged in pendulous racemes found in the axils of the aforementioned branches. They feature six yellow sepals so akin to the six petals that the blossom appears to be double.
The fruit is an ellipsoidal berry, approximately 1 cm long, red in color, and remains on the plant for an extended period. Each berry contains two to three seeds encased in a hard shell.
